Details: This gorgeous  Victorian 15k signet style ring has a finely carved chalcedony intaglio depicting a jeweled crown atop a tower on a shield family crest. Rings like this served a dual purpose - they functioned as a beautiful piece of historical family jewelry but they also were used to mark important correspondence.

One pressed the signet into warm wax effectively sealing envelopes closed and confirming significant documents. Heavyweight with a beautiful aged patina, this ring is perfection worn on the pinky and works well with both modern and antique collections.
