An incredible antique Berlin Iron signet ring featuring a beautiful floral band with an 'R' inscription at its front.
This ring was created in Prussia during the 'Gold gab ich fur Eisen' movement (I gave gold for iron) which was created to help finance the ongoing war against Napoleon.
Citizens were urged to donate their gold to the state and would receive cast iron pieces in return.
These pieces became a symbol of patriotism amongst citizens and would have been worn with great pride at the time.
There is some light discolouration to parts of the ring which has been pictured. The ring remains in remarkable condition for its age.
